1. Coolest thing about Xi’an: the terra-cotta warriors made for the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty. (Duh.)
2. Coolest thing about Xi’an, runner up: everyone rides either a motorcycle, moped or bicycle. The bicycles can hold up to three people comfortably, it seems.
3. Funniest thing about Xi’an: rampant typos – truly ubiquitous. Looking for typos has never been so effortless.
4. Most interesting cultural differences noticed: every young lady (xiaojie!) carries an umbrella for the sun. If she has a boyfriend, he may often be seen holding it for her. The umbrella is usually lace-trimmed, sequined, and pastel-colored.
5. Random comment: maybe by the end of the trip, I’ll be able to fake a Mandarin accent better.
Or just-uh imitateh the tourur guideh. Haaah.
